Upon beginning my search for Christmas gifts, I remembered that I had stumbled upon a fantastic website last holiday season and was too excited about using it again this year. Gifts.com is a great site where you can use many different methods of searching for the perfect gift. From whether the person is male or female to what kind of personality traits he/she has and even hobbies, Gifts.com does a great job of sending you to browse effectively. The really cool thing about it is that I can go there with the intention of getting one person marked off my holiday list and end up marking off a few just from browsing the site and using the different search methods. Any chance I get to avoid long lines and sweating to death in over-crowded, over-heated department stores, I take. glorious dark chocolate!

Only have a moment to share with you my love for the new dark chocolate peanut m&m’s. As a female who is deathly addicted to her chocolate and totally in love with this whole, “dark chocolate is actually good for you because it has antioxidants,” I was delighted to see some of my favorite milk chocolate candies offered in a less-guilt, dark chocolate variety. I do love the Hershey’s Kisses offered in dark chocolate as well, but the dark chocolate peanut m&m’s is where it’s at as far as I am concerned! Not only does the dark chocolate posess the benefits of antioxidants, but let us not forget about the protein we get out of those peanuts, ladies!! I just have to keep reminding myself that this does not allow me to eat an entire bag in one sitting.

My husband and I have been watching a little more television than usual since the little kiddo came home and have just been exposed to what has apparently been a part of pop culture for eight years now. We had come across people our age who were into the show Family Guy in the past and really didn’t know what to say because we had never caught an episode. Truth be told, we sort of thought it was akin to South Park and were over that phase. Well, giving up our night bartending gigs and sitting at home with our new addition allowed the time to catch an episode or two and for whatever reason, we decided to tune in. It didn’t take long for that silly Stewie to become absolutely hilarious to the both of us (the hook for most of American society, I presume). The dry humor of the shows have cast their spell on us. From someone whose TV addictions include The Office, Law & Order, Top Chef and virtually any program on The Food Network, I can safely say this did not fit into my , repertoire but let me tell you if you have a free 30 minutes, try and catch a re-run or check out an episode online. I realize I am probably only talking to about 3 people as I am sure I am the absolute last to jump on this bandwagon. Never the less, I was excited to finally become exposed to it, so I thought I’d share.

Something that I have loved for a great while now is my Bottle Drying Rack from Skip*Hop. From the time that I discovered my husband and I were expecting, my mother has been on what I believe to be a personal mission to purchase any and all items that exist for baby. When she first brought this particular “necessity” to my attention, I wasn’t exactly keen on the idea. My kitchen is a modest size with limited counter space. Even as she was excitedly introducing me to the product, I was racking my brain to think of a way that I could gently refuse my mother’s well-meaning suggestion. I didn’t see the need for such a contraption and expected that I would simply throw the dirty bottles in the dishwasher when they needed to be cleaned; this was a huge misconception. Upon the arrival of the bundle of joy, I quickly realized that the child went through every clean bottle we had before we even had enough dirty dishes for full load (probably because we couldn’t even find the time to eat). After the first week of trying to “air dry” bottles turned upside down on a clean dish towel and realizing that a very unpleasant odor lingered inside the bottle from this process, I rung up the ’ole wise mother and told her by all means, purchase away. Let me tell you, this thing is wonderful. It has a place for all of the nipples and bottles to air dry without developing said odor and the brush is the perfect size to get in there and clean the bottle and nipples without much effort. There is no need for one of those pesky nipple brushes, as the Skip*Hop brush has a small tip that cleans the nipple with ease. The color Poppy (shown) is what graces our kitchen counter and I have even received compliments on it from ”non-mommies.” I tell you, as a first-time mother who sometimes possess the mentality of “just the basics,” my mother is God-send for pointing me in the direction of this beauty.
